On Friday the 18th of February 2022, at the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava, a work meeting was held which was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Slovak Republic Jaroslav Naď, the Director of the Archives of Vojvodina Dr. Nebojša Kuzmanović and Assistant Director of the Archives of Vojvodina Kristijan Obšust.
At the meeting, the main, project and publishing activities of the Archives of Vojvodina were presented, with a special focus on programs and projects that were realized at the Archives during the last three years which deal with the presentation of archival records connected to the Slovak national minority that lives in the Republic of Serbia. Likewise, the Minister of Defense was gifted with certain publications by the Archives of Vojvodina. One of the topics of discussion was further cooperation with a partner institution from Banska Bystrica, the Museum of the Slovak National Uprising, with whom the Archives of Vojvodina has a two-year long productive cooperation and which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic since the beginning of this year .
During the cordial and constructive discussion that followed the work meeting, the Director of the Archives of Vojvodina Dr. Nebojša Kuzmanović thanked Minister Naď for the principle stance of the Slovak Republic with regard to refusing to recognize the self-proclaimed so-called Republic of Kosovo. Minister Jaroslav Naď in that context highlighted the fact that the Government, Parliament and him personally have an absolutely unchangeable stance when it comes to that topic and that not recognizing Kosovo is a permanent stance of the foreign policy of the Slovak Republic, no matter the composition of the Government. That stance is based on respecting basic principles of international law, or more specifically, it originates from principles of defining borders in Europe after the Second World War. When referring to the strong stance of Slovakia with regard to not recognizing the self-proclaimed Kosovo, the best testimony to this fact is, as Minister Naď highlighted, that it is the one question where the Parliament and all political individuals agree upon, while the people of Slovakia are completely of the same position as the Republic of Serbia.
