On Thursday the 30th of March 2023, a delegation from the Archives of Vojvodina (the Director of the Archives of Vojvodina Dr. Nebojša Kuzmanović, Assistant Director Kristijan Obšust and digitization operative Vladimir Mučibabić), accompanied by the Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Government for the Policy Concerning the Slovak Diaspora Ms. Iveta Galbavá, visited the University Library in Bratislava (Univerzitná knižnica v Bratislave).
During the visit to this prestigious institution, apart from the work of certain departments, the delegation from the Archives of Vojvodina was also shown rare copies of ”old and rare books” which represent the main component in the collections of this institution. Among other things, the focus was on presenting collections of old and rare books which are connected to Serbian culture, as well as the ”Islamic Manuscripts” Collection which originates from the private collection of one of Sarajevo’s famous poets ”Safvet-beg Bašagić” which includes manuscripts and archival records dated from the 12th to the 19th century, which are of immeasurable worth and were declared to be a UNESCO world cultural heritage in the ”Memory of the World” category in 1997.
At the meeting, which was held after a thorough visit to several medieval buildings at the University Library, discussions were held with the General Director of this institution Ing. Silvia Stasselová. After presenting the main and project activities of the Archives of Vojvodina, strategic cooperation was agreed upon with this prestigious institution, mainly in the sense of exhibitions and publishing activities whereby medium-term joint projects, in the sense of book promotions and exhibitions, were defined.
