A book by Dejan Jakšić (archival consultant) and Zagorka Avakumović (senior archivist) titled Collection of Charters and Diplomas, has finally been published by the Archives of Vojvodina and the Institute for Culture of Vojvodina.
The Collection of Charters and Diplomas (F. 398) of the Archives of Vojvodina contains 50 archival units, with a chronological framework from 1565 to 1861, which encompasses some of the oldest documents of the Archives. Charters and diplomas have a special significance for studying the social, historical and cultural development of Serbs and their environment, testifying about the socio – political circumstances or the early modern period in the territory of Bačka, Banat and Srem and likewise all around the Habsburg Monarchy, as well as testifying about various historical events and people and their achievement in our national history (like Patriarch Josif Rajačić). The archival units of this collection are noticeable not only by their historiographical importance and age but also by their artistic looks, the materials, size and bindings, which is why the majority of them possess great artistic and aesthetic values.
