As part of the ”International Holocaust Remembrance Day”, and initiated by UNESCO and Mémorial de la Shoah in Paris, today on the 27th of January 2019, in the gallery area of the Archives of Vojvodina, a documentary by Roberta Grossman ”Who Will Write our History” was simultaneously shown, as part of the 300 local events in over 50 countries around the world.
The organizers of this event are the Serbian-Dutch-Swedish organization Terraforming and the Jewish Community of Novi Sad.
The Director of the Archives of Vojvodina, Dr. Nebojša Kuzmanović, and the Director of Terraforming, Miško Stanišić, spoke to the guests and announced that, with this event, they wanted to commemorate the beginning of cooperation on the new project that is being financed by IHRA – International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
Before the screening of the documentary, a short presentation was held about the creation of the famous archive by Emanuel Ringelblum in the Warsaw ghetto, known as Oyneg Shabbes, as well as informing everyone about the new two-year-long international project concerning the education about the Holocaust in which archives from Vojvodina will take part in.
After the documentary, the guests were addressed directly via a video-link from the UNESCO headquarters in Paris by the authors of the documentary.
